Item donation FAQ - Catherine Foundation Team

Do you accept material donations?

Yes! The material assistance provided to our clients comes directly from our valued donors, you! At the Catherine Foundation we want all our clients to feel cared for and a huge part of that is providing clean, gently used items for their families. Unfortunately dirty, stained, or incomplete/broken items cannot be accepted as we do not have the resources to clean items before they leave the facility.

What about large furniture items?

Yes…and No. The Catherine Foundation has very limited storage space and cannot store large items such: as cribs, changing tables, dressers, and rocking chairs. If you have a large furniture item that you would like to donate, we ask that you contact the center for more information.

Can I donate a USED car seat?

Absolutely you can! We are able to accept used car seats that are in very good, gently used condition, have not been involved in an accident, and have not past their expiration date. We ask that you have the expiration date information available at the time of donation. If you require more information on finding and understanding the expiration date for your car seat, please visit carseaton.com

What about household goods and adult clothing?

Unfortunately, we cannot accept donations of household goods or adult clothing. There is a donation shed run by the Knights of Columbus located in the parking lot where adult clothing can be placed. The Catherine Foundation receives an occasional payout from the items placed in that donation shed.

When can I donate items to The Catherine Foundation?

The Catherine Foundation is open for donations Monday-Friday from 10:30-3:00. If you have any questions regarding donations, please call the center during business hours at 301-932-8811.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes, the Catherine foundation is a non-profit organization and as such tax-exempt receipts are available to all donors.
